Kach Kenya, by Alpine Projects
Karmabu Ringera founded International Peace Initiatives in 2002 out of her desire to help women with AIDS send their children to school. The Kithoka Amani (Kach) Community Home project began in 2006 with a vision of a community which nurtured and cared for children orphaned by AIDS and one that could break the cycles of poverty and violence by providing knowledge and tools of self sufficiency. The Kach video documents the work of Alpine Initiative a US based snow sports insitutute who assist with the development of sustainable futures project around the world. Alpine Initative roped in a group of volunteers and managed to raise $104,000 to travel to Kenya to assist local experts to build a local community centre and a home for orphaned children. This a video of their first project.
