Girlosophy: Real Girls’ Stories

This is the original Girlosophy reportage book that focuses on girls and young women from around the world. Based on interviews and quotes from real girls, Girlosophy: Real Girls' Stories shines the spotlight on the experiences, thoughts, beliefs, hopes and concerns of girls in our midst as they face the reality of life as young women in the 21st century.

Its about time that girls took a good look at thier own lives, and those of people around them for interest and inspiration, and turn off the deluge of superficial reality tv shows competeing for air time. Not surprisingly, the Real Girls' stories are far more intersting!

‘Girls don’t look in the mirror and ask, “What do I want for myself?” They look and wonder, “What do other people think?”’
Jennifer, Canada

‘I didn’t grow up rich – I grew up in a trailer park. But visiting downtown L.A was a heavy experience when I first went there. It was an uneducated level of poverty that I had never seen before.’
Michelle, USA

‘Be happy with what you have, you have enough.’
See Dewi, Sri Lanka

‘ All girls think they have to be beautiful. There’s this impression among girls that you can be the most successful person, but if you’re ugly, no one will care.’
Ashley, Australia

‘You have to find the silence!’
Anja, Switzerland

‘Karma is long-term not short-term.’
– Radha, Australia

‘I’ve been rolled on the reef at Teahupoo in Tahiti. I got seven stitches in my head for that.’
Emilia, Hawaii
