Awesome India!

Awesome India! Russell Brand popped the question to Katy Perry here, cricketer Shane Warne regards it as his second home, Julia Roberts converted to Hinduism while on location there, and of course the globe-trotting Ange and Brad are regular visitors with their family. Incredible India, it seems, is on everyone’s bucket list!
And for very good reasons too. As the birthplace of spirituality and the roots of the Hippy movement, India is without doubt one of THE great travel destinations, and home to gurus, holy festivals, ashrams, mind-blowing architecture, The Taj Mahal, cricket, polo, colourful textiles, the Indian Tiger, exquisite food and beautiful people. Diversity is both a hallmark and the greatest asset of this extraordinary country, where the snow-covered Himalayas fringe some of the highest passes on earth. It’s also where His Holiness Dalai Lama lives in exile along with thousands of his Tibetan and Western Buddhist followers.

Set to rival China as the world’s future economic powerhouse, India is a cultural and technological giant that is fast finding its global mojo. Immortalised for the big screen in Hollywood’s Eat, Pray, Love (starring Julia Roberts and the Javier Bardem) and the much loved Oscar-winning films Slumdog Millionaire and Born into Brothels, as well as in legions of Bollywood and art house films such as Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding, this-hard-to-describe land of miracles can seem at times like a massive film set! This is also why it is a natural draw for photographers since the invention of the camera, India is rich pickings for those who like their visual stimulation. And here at Girlosophy, we’ve fallen hard for her charms. How can anyone resist the colour, glamour, mayhem and fun of the greatest shopping bazaar in the world. Um. Did someone say shopping…?
That’s right, shopping and photography and yoga and palaces and tigers and luxurious tents and movies and temples and elephants and… basically everything that makes our Girlo heart chakras spin at full rotation!
So, ahem, drum roll please….
Girlosophy is so very proud to present a special trip through India, to be offered in 2012 for the first time. We will be taking a lucky group of girlosophers on a magical trip through the jewel of the Far East. But you will have to register quickly to be on our team. For all the information you need, and to register visit here!
